The previous record was 18-million MWH in 2003, said PPL, the parent of operator PPL Susquehanna. The company did not provide individual generation figures for the plant's two units. ------------ LES hires Shaw Group for enrichment facility work Washington (Platts)--7Jan2005 LES said it has signed an architect and engineering contract (A&E) with the Shaw Group for work on a planned uranium enrichment facility in New Mexico. LES last year tapped Washington Group International Inc. (WGI) for the A&E contract for the "National Enrichment Facility" (NEF). However, LES announced today that it and WGI "have jointly agreed to terminate contract discussions for the NEF project, being unable to reach agreement on terms and conditions." The contract announced today is with Nuclear Technology Solutions LLC, a subsidiary of the Shaw Group Inc. ------------
